Michael Rowe

Michael Rowe is an emeritus professor of psychiatry and former co-director of the Yale Program for Recovery and Community Health and the Citizens Community Collaborative in the Department of Psychiatry. He is the author or editor of six books on topics including citizenship as an applied theoretical framework for the social inclusion and participation of people with mental health distress; outreach to people who are homeless; high technology medicine and its impact on patients, family members, and medical professionals; recovery-oriented care; and medical errors in oncology. His 250 peer-reviewed and other publications fall under the same categories, along with medical humanities and literature. Michael also claims the accomplishment of good fortune in having inspired collaborators who have made the work of citizenship a joint venture in improving community mental health and helping people move beyond and outside of it.
